Inauguration of IDEAS ePOST by Honble Chief Minister of Kerala

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri.V.S.Achuthanandan inaugurated the ePOST facility in Chief Minister’s Office on 16/06/2010. Dr.Ajaya kumar IAS, Prl. Secretary (IT) presided over the inaugural function. He gave an overview of the IDEAS – ePOST integration. Mrs.Shobha Koshy , Chief Post Master General of Kerala, explained the features and how the public is getting benefited by this system. She stated that, Govt, of Kerala is the first Corporate User for the ePOST, She also appreciated the efforts taken by NIC Delhi & Kerala to make it successful. Mr. Unnikrishnan , PSA project coordinator explained the functionality of this system and integration of the software IDEAS with ePOST . Dr.K.S.Raman, State Informatics Officer and Mrs.Kasthuri, TD answered the various queries raised by the media. The trial of this service has been started on 01/01/2010 and so far more than 23,000 acknowledgement letters were delivered using the ePOST facility.

Operation Procedure of IDEAS – ePOST

• Officers of the Chief Minister’s Office, registers the Petition details using IDEAS application
• Communication on the action taken details are uploaded into the ePOST Server in Delhi
• ePOST application routes them as ePOST Messages to the relevant Post Offices on the basis on PINCODE.
• The Postmaster concerned, then prints the messages and the Postman delivers this to the addressee in a closed envelope.

The Petitioner can subsequently know the status of the petition using the facilities (Internet, SMS, eMAIL) offered by IDEAS
