E-Payment facility for various RTO services has been enabled in Kerala Motor Vehicles department. By the enablement e-pay system, citizen can remit, their FEE/TAX/CESS for License and Vehicle related services, electronically to the department. For availing this facility, citizen needs to submit the online application for the required service in the MVD web portal (http://keralamvd.gov.in).  At the time of online application submission, the system will provide an e-Application ID and display the required FEE /TAX /CESS to be paid for the service.  Applicant having an SBI/SBT account (internet banking account or with an ATM Card) can make their payment electronically by clicking the  PAY ONLINE option in the site.  After that, citizen has to take the print out of the forms to be submitted to the department. These printed forms, epay receipts, attested certificates (for the proof of address, age etc) is to be submitted to the concerned RT office for availing the service. The online applications received will be processed in the respective offices and the certificates will be sent to the citizen through speed post. The stages of processing of the application and the dispatched speed post reference number will be available in the department portal for future reference of the Akshaya/ applicant.

If the e-payment required is only for vehicle TAX, after the successful payment the system will provide a e-Tax Token to the citizen and need not required to go to RT offices further.  Department is waiting for the Govt. approval for the legal acceptance of e-TaxToken. This will be enabled only after the Govt. sanction. Online application submission and ePay facility for the following 19 MVD services will be available to   the public through this facility.

The NIC team with members Shri M Asir Edwin Technical Director, Ms VS Sreekala  PSA and Ms Somi P Thomas SSA under the leadership of Dr. K.S. Raman, SIO Kerala, worked for the enablement of the e-Payment system of MVD. Support from Treasury software development team is also helped to the completion of treasury reconciliation part.  Software and the hardware are audited by the STQC. The Support from web service group & SEG is also remarkable for the successful completion of security auditing challenges.
